The Forum’s administration has been acute the authoritative gas pedal adamantine anytime back its inception. The abidingness has helped HPMF acquire a aglow acceptability and fabricated it into the pre-eminent business and networking belvedere for accretion professionals in the industry. The commemoration conventions of HPMF accept become abundant approved afterwards calendar dates in the commemoration of the accretion and accommodation industry. Accepted to put up badly acknowledged and alluring shows, HPMF pulls out all stops to put up a bright accident aces of their ample fraternity. The commemoration assemblage aftermost year at Jodhpur was the allocution of the country, with over 250 associates and over 30 suppliers, media bodies and added associates of the accumulated apple gracing the occasion. The appearance was actually top drawer, arch to belief that this year the assemblage would be alike added spectacular!
And accurate to their form, HPMF has outperformed commemoration time, in spades. Without alike authoritative an attack to alike you with all the adamantine statistics of this year’s assemblage in Varanasi – the acquisition saw added than 400 accommodation veterans and purchasing managers from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Chennai, Goa, Guwahati, Jaipur, Indore, Nagpur, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Puri and added genitalia of the country and away – it was three pulsating canicule spent over astute debates, discussions, affairs and fun.Rarely, accept I appear beyond such a abundant feast of an accident – gargantuan in admeasurement and ambit and angrily aggressive and adventuresome in design, apperception and beheading and with a acceptable brotherhood and aloof aspect at its heart. Another afterimage that leaves an enduring banner on the hidden is the never catastrophe alternation of afire pyres on Manikarnika ghat area bodies are burnt annular the alarm all annular the year. As we anesthetized by, the afterglow of afire pyres hit our eyes and senses with a sombre, alveolate force – banishment us to reflect on how we anticipate about activity and our bankrupt allocation of bitter time aloft Earth. The awesome afterimage is apprenticed to leave anyone in a brooding affection about the certitude of activity and our actuality itself. The Manikarnika ghat’s ceaseless appalling rites wells up the affection in a bathetic affect able of crumbling the best accustomed of animal spirits. Relatives, ancestors and accompany accompanying the anatomy of the age-old attending somberly on at the abhorrence of afterlife accumulated with a Thanatos-longing for the abiding absolution of the anatomy of their admired – the accomplishment of moksha for the age-old soul, which the angelic ghat of Kashi promises to fulfill.Next on the beat was a bout to some of the added iconic ghats area bounded artists allowable virtuoso performances reliving absorbing actual anecdotes associated with the ghats and the angelic city. Success belief were anecdotal – amid them a blithely adorning anniversary of acknowledged apology of battered alone actual structures into beaming continuing auberge backdrop – by the arch bedfellow Aman Nath, a accurate accommodation archetype and apostle of Neemrana Hotels.Many hot button and pertinent capacity were discussed and parsed by aces mavens of the accommodation and accretion trade. To punch up the admirers activity in amid the sessions and advantage up the accepted affection of the acquisition was the active interventions of the actual active and babbling emcee Shikha Singh who never absent a adventitious to inject pumped up shots of communicative adrenaline and active amusement to accumulate the affairs animated.
Four circuit of anecdotic console discussions, presentations and keynote speeches by arch luminaries were captivated afore the accumulated acquisition bankrupt for the cafeteria break. Schneider Electric commits to 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2030 and reporting on its energy productivity journey
Mississauga, Ont. – December 12, 2017 – Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has committed to sourcing 100 per cent renewable electricity and is throwing light on the doubling of its energy productivity.
Schneider Electric strongly believes it cannot go renewable without ensuring optimization of its energy system first. Today's commitments are yet another step-in the company's journey to becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Aligned with these commitments, Schneider Electric has decided to join two global, collaborative initiatives, led by The Climate Group, bringing together influential businesses committed to accelerating climate action:
RE100: to use 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2030 with an intermediary objective of 80 per cent by 2020
EP100: to double energy productivity by 2030, against a 2005 baseline, setting an ambitious target to doubling the economic output from every unit of energy consumed
Schneider Electric strives to answer the world's new energy challenge by boosting energy efficiency everywhere: in homes, buildings and cities, industry, the grid, and throughout remote community. In a world more decarbonized, more digitized, more decentralized, energy use needs to be more productive. In order to deliver on its new promises and its sustained energy efficiency efforts, Schneider Electric will leverage its own technical solutions – EcoStruxure Power and EcoStruxure Grid. Using these solutions, the Group has been able to reduce its energy consumption by 10 per cent every three years for the past 10 years. More specifically, Schneider Electric has reduced consumption by six per cent between 2008 and 2017 at its headquarters in France, The Hive.
These commitments will cover more than 1,000 electricity consuming sites around the globe, including 200 factories. Schneider Electric will leverage a broad range of renewable energy sources, including but not limited to solar, wind, geothermal and biomass.
Schneider Electric will drive its transition to 100 per cent renewable electricity through three levers, with an interim goal of achieving 80 per cent renewable electricity use by 2020 to 100 per cent in 2030:
On-site projects at Schneider Electric facilities around the world: with renewable energy initiatives, already in place at some Schneider Electric locations, such as a solar rooftop at its sites in Vadodara (India), Bangpoo (Thailand), or geothermal energy and a solar rooftop at its flagship office “The Hive”, France, among multiple others. Schneider Electric will install on-site renewable energy projects to help achieve its 2030 target. While on-site projects are expected to deliver a portion of Schneider Electric's renewable electricity needs only, they will add to the company's renewable energy capabilities, and act as a showcase for other organizations contemplating such options, together with energy efficiency enabling technologies;
Offsite long-term procurement through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs): a PPA is a long-term (12-20 year) contract between a renewable energy developer and a dedicated, creditworthy buyer. PPAs enable developers to secure financing for new wind, solar or other renewable electricity projects and allow buyers to enjoy predictable pricing from clean energy sources;
Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) and green tariffs: an EAC is a free market instrument which verifies that one megawatt hour of renewable electricity was generated and added to the grid from a green power source. Schneider Electric will use EACs as a flexible and fast way to acquire and track renewable electricity.
“We are in a new world of energy that is becoming more electric, more decarbonized, more decentralized, and more digital. Our mission at Schneider Electric is to supply the technologies that permit, drive and catalyze the transition to a new world of energy. The commitments we have made today in joining RE100 and EP100 to source 100 per cent renewable electricity and reflect on the doubling of our energy productivity are a demonstration of how consumers and business can be empowered to ensure the affordability, resilience, sustainability, and security of the energy that they consume,” says Emmanuel Lagarrigue, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President at Schneider Electric.
“Already a leader in the energy space, joining RE100 and EP100 represents a smart business decision for Schneider Electric. These commitments will help the company to deliver on its wider climate ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030. Doubling energy productivity will help it to use energy as economically as possible while making the transition to renewables, which are themselves cost-competitive in many markets. I welcome the powerful signal Schneider Electric is sending to peers, investors and governments, to accelerate the transition to a zero-emissions economy,” says Helen Clarkson, Chief Executive Officer at The Climate Group.
At COP21 in Paris in 2015, Schneider Electric announced 10 Commitments for Sustainability. The commitments were aligned with the Planet & Society Barometer, Schneider Electric's sustainability scorecard to measure its ambitious commitment to sustainable development on a quarterly basis and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These commitments support the company's objectives to make its plants and sites carbon neutral by 2030, in a coherent industry ecosystem encompassing both suppliers and clients.
In addition, to become a carbon neutral company by 2030, recent initiatives from Schneider Electric include:
Climate Leadership Council: at the beginning of 2017, Schneider Electric became a founding member of the Climate Leadership Council in the U.S., to support a new market-based climate solution that is both pro-growth and pro-environment;
Global Footprint Network: in summer 2017, Schneider Electric signed a partnership with the Global Footprint Network, an international non-profit organization, to enable a sustainable future where all people have the opportunity to thrive within the means of one planet;
Launch of EcoStruxure™: in November 2016, Schneider Electric launched the next generation of EcoStruxure, its IoT-enabled, plug-and-pay, open architecture that delivers end-to-end solutions in six domains of expertise – Power, IT, Building, Machine, Plant and Grid – for four end markets: Building, Data Center, Industry and Infrastructure.
Livelihoods Carbon Fund: Together with Crédit Agricole, Danone, Firmenich, Hermès, Michelin, SAP, and Voyageurs du Monde, Schneider Electric has launched a new impact investment fund, with a target of 100 million euros. The fund aims to improve the lives of 2 million people and avoid the emission of up to 25 million tons of CO2 over a 20-year span.
About Schneider Electric Schneider Electric is leading the Digital Transformation of Energy Management and Automation in Homes, Buildings, Data Centres, Infrastructure and Industries.
With global presence in over 100 countries, Schneider is the undisputable leader in Power Management – Medium Voltage, Low Voltage and Secure Power, and in Automation Systems. We provide integrated efficiency solutions, combining energy, automation and software.

Led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, RE100 is a collaborative initiative uniting the world's most influential businesses committed to 100 per cent renewable power. Renewables are a smart business decision, providing greater control over energy costs and driving innovation, while helping companies to deliver on emission reduction goals. RE100 members, including Global Fortune 500 companies, have a total revenue of more than US$2.5 trillion and operate in a diverse range of sectors – from Information Technology to automobile manufacturing. Together, they represent 155TWh of demand for renewable electricity annually – enough to power Ukraine, Malaysia or New York State. They send a powerful signal to policymakers and investors to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy.
Led by The Climate Group in partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy, EP100 is a global, collaborative initiative of influential businesses that pledge to double their energy productivity. By doubling the economic output from every unit of energy consumed, companies set a bold target, demonstrating climate leadership while reaping the benefits of lower energy costs. Business accounts for around half of the electricity used worldwide. By focusing on energy productivity outcomes, corporates can reduce their own energy demand and significantly contribute to reducing energy demand globally. Furthermore, significantly improving energy productivity worldwide will help get us halfway to the goal of limiting global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius. It's critical that businesses lead the way. By doubling energy productivity, corporations are also enhancing their resilience and boosting competitiveness, all while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating jobs, and improving energy security. http://constructionlinks.ca/news/schneider-electric-commits-100-per-cent-renewable-electricity-2030-reporting-energy-productivity-journey/

Hina Bhuptani Shah
Hina (Bhuptani) Shah was born to Mr. Dilip Bhuptani, metallurgical engineer working as the manager with TATA Steel, and Mrs.Pushpa Bhuptani, an artist and social worker. While she was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, she studied her MSc. at the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) – Vadodara. Having been brought up in Jamshedpur, she grew up to learn classical dance at Ravidra Parishad, and won numerous awards with her natural and graceful dancing skills even as a child. She has 3 younger brothers. Raj Bhuptani, who is an engineer from IIT Kanpur is an entrepreneur by profession, Vijay Bhuptani, who is an academician and Ajay Bhuptani who is a part of the Union National Bank – Abu Dhabi.
Being the eldest of the 4 siblings, and being the only girl, on one hand, she learnt to take responsibility at an early age, while on the other she also experienced challenges in being a “girl”. But this played a positive role in her development, as she took it as a challenge and learnt to emerge a winner. Married to industrialist Ashok Shah, she has two daughters. Shital, who is an MBA, and has joined her in her institute, and Shaina is pursuing her Chartered Accountancy.
Ms. Hina Shah. She dares to be different. A home maker, a classical dancer, an entrepreneur and the director of International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development(ICECD). Hina Shah is perfectly comfortable in each role. In a man’s world, she has created a niche for herself with path breaking innovative ideas. With verve and panache, she moves from strength to strength breaking new grounds with her bold initiatives. A progressive personality, but who believes that the sari is the most graceful attire a woman can wear, one invariably finds her in her trademark silk sarees.
With the kind of impact that her developmental initiatives have created on the world map, Hina Shah is a name to recon with at a global level. However, she has many more dimensions of herself, which, put together define her vibrant self.
· Hina Shah – the painter The canvases painted by Hina Shah form a part of many a art collector’s pride, around the globe. Her paintings occupy important places at various art galleries of India. Majority of her paintings are oil paintings which are a blend of impressionism and contemporary work. Her paintings reflect joy and vibrancy, and have received applause and recognition by art lovers and critics. A recent exhibition of the paintings at Nehru Centre – Mumbai was extremely well received, and was visited by over 7000 art lovers. Having won several awards for painting, Hina Shah continues to add to her collection of over 50 paintings created by her. She desires to promote Indian Painters through an Art Gallery which she wants to create, where deserving Indian artists would get international recognition and global platform.
· Hina Shah - the academician Being an entrepreneur herself and having taught entrepreneurship to thousands through her initiatives at ICECD, Hina Shah started a school called “Satyamevajayate International School” in 2001. Through this school she teaches ‘Entrepreneurship’ to students, 1st standard onwards. She has designed specialised modules, through which she teaches the students the nuances of Business Management and Entrepreneurship from an early age of 6, whereby, the child would develop into a person with capability to be able to start his own enterprise by the time he/she passes out from the school. Thereby, he/she, instead of looking for a job for himself/herself - would be developed into a job creator for others.
Students at Satyamevajayate International School also learn skills like carpentry, electrification, classical dance(including boys) and gardening, whereby they develop independence in day to day activities and also grow up as socially responsible citizens of our country. Maximum strength of the classes is limited to 15 per class, in order to be able to truely develop these children as per Ms Shah’s vision.
Besides, Hina Shah has also designed syllabus of Entrepreneurship Courses for various schools and colleges.
· Hina Shah – the danseuse She took her first step of dance at a tender age of five. Attracted by the marvel of this art, Hina’s intuition and innocence led her from the thrill and excitement of her first steps at Rabindra Parishad to the specialised steps in the Odissi style of Indian classical dance. Since then, Hina has stepped from mastery to originality. She went on to winning district/state and national level prizes and was chosen to direct a dance drama for All India Radio(AIR) at the age of fourteen.
The meticulous dance training by her guru Sri. Indrakumar Patnaik Mohanti in Orissa coupled with her passion for dance gave Hina’s talent an extra sharpness and richness. She has given dance performances all over India, and in Europe, and has received acclaim from both-people and press. Being the foremost exponent of Odissi in Gujarat, her dance school ‘Moksh’ has trained many odissi dancers in the state. Her most recent performance at the Modhera Dance Festival was highly appreciated, wherein she performed with both her daughters in a three hour concert. According to one of the press reviews, they continue to mesmerise the audiences with the grace and agility on stage.
Though her work has taken her to over 60 countries world over, her heart is at home. She is a proud Indian, and believes India is full of opportunities for those who want to progress and succeed. While she is fond of Indian cuisine, food comes last on her list of priorities. A simple eater, with extraordinary fitness to carry on a dance performance for 3 hours, ensuring a spell bound audience!
FOR HINA SHAH, THE WORLD IS TRUELY BUT A STAGE... AND SHE PORTRAYS VARIOUS ROLES WITH EASE AND EXPERTISE. · Hina Shah – the Director ICECD
Hina Shah is a Master of Science with further qualifications in HRD areas. A young, energetic qualified woman, with a desire to become independent, empowered and successful, Hina Shah faced many an odds when she decided to become an entrepreneur in 1976. 30 years back, society ( be it parents, husbands, in laws, relatives, neighbors, banks or even market)was not prepared to see women being independent.
Resistance from society, friction at emotional and economic levels, along with financial institutions refusing to give loans made it all the more difficult for her to initially take the plunge towards independence and empowerment. However, her determination and grit to achieve her goal, gradually converted these difficulties into opportunities. She took up the challenge, and emerged a successful entrepreneur in the field of plastic packaging. Hina Shah, while successfully balancing various other roles of a woman – that of a mother, a wife and a daughter, also received acceptance from family and society. While having experienced empowerment, when she saw a large number of deprived, poor and helpless women suffering socially, emotionally and psychologically due to economic constraints, she took up the mission to lead them towards self-employment and entrepreneurship. This made them main stream partners contributing to the national economy. Thus, she was the pioneer in starting “Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP)” for women in Gujarat in 1982, with 25 women participants, of which 16 established their non-traditional businesses. Encouraged by the success, she refined the model and implemented it in many districts of Gujarat. These women entrepreneurs were recognized as “economic contributors” by the financial/support institutions and the policy makers.
Her dream was to expand this movement so as to take the movement to every nook and corner of the country, specifically to the disadvantaged and poor women. She felt the need of a specific national/international level organization, with no limitations or defined boundaries, to work for these women. The entrepreneurial competencies within her motivated her to create an entity, which could convert these potential women into successful entrepreneurs. Thus in 1986, she transformed her own entrepreneurial experience into a developmental initiative and started “The International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD)”. ICECD is a unique institute for women entrepreneurship, perhaps the only one of it’s kind, and is recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the United Nations-ESCAP and has facilitated thousands of disadvantaged women to become entrepreneurs not only in the various states of India but all over the developing world.
A WAY OUT FOR WOMEN THROUGH ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT Hina Shah’s relentless efforts to change the face of the deprived, dependent women of rural India created a noteworthy impact. Rural women - working at a measured and contended pace, some are working at their small vending-trading shops, some manufacture garments; spices; leather/Rexene products and packing boxes in their small work places, and some are busy providing services like cycle repair. They go back home in the evening, with Rs. 50-500 profit in their hands : quite a substantial sum for them. These are the women who hardly involved themselves in income generation and always despaired, thinking about how to feed their children and how to lead a better life, before they joined the development programme. They were the poorest of the poor in the village, illiterate, with no land and a ramshackle hut, with many children to support and feed. Some of them were widows or were abandoned by their husbands, with no assets to help generate income. They had few choices : work as domestic help or a farm laborer, depend on relatives who were as poor, or beg. They were subject to exploitation and abuse, and they along-with their children lived at the edge of survival – a spectre of living dead – with no hope. When these women became involved in the development initiative called “Rural Women Enterprise/Business Development Programme”, for which they were selected based on their strengths as individuals, they learnt essentially two things:
Ø How to take charge of their lives with dignity and confidence Ø How to initiate/run and manage their micro enterprises/businesses THE WOMEN AND THEIR STRUGGLE TO SUCCEED In the beginning, when the programme was being promoted, these women were reluctant to participate due to their own lack of confidence/initiative, and were also scolded and discouraged by the larger community for trying to go against established social norms. The custom of secluding women from all but their immediate family and not involving them in any economic activity prevailed not only in the villages, but even among well-to-do people. However, the realization that they CAN DO SOMETHING ON THEIR OWN, and careful counseling, helped them to participate in these programmes. They learnt, applied their minds and succeeded in establishing their own niche. Today, over 10,00,000 women have benefited in India and in developing countries in rural, urban and tribal areas
· Total investments created in India = Rs 195 Crores · Total Investment created in other countries = Rs 620 Crores ICECD’s directly trained over 100,000 women entrepreneurs have further created employment for 300,000 unemployed women of India.

Demonetisation and Real Estate
While the demonetisation initiative by the Central government means further delays in ongoing real estate projects due to the massive cash crunch, it also paves the way for a cleaner and more transparent real estate industry in the times to come. Developers will now look for alternative funding arrangements while end-users or investors will wait for more certainty before making any move.
The real estate sector will definitely be affected by the demonetization exercise, as it has traditionally seen a very high involvement of black money and cash transactions. However, almost all such incidences have been in the secondary sales market, where cash components have traditionally been a veritable ‘must’. In other words, the resale properties segment will take a big hit. However, short-term pain is inevitable when we look for any eventual long-term cure for the disease. There has for long been a strident demand to bring transparency in the sector so that the it becomes more organized, and cash dealings must necessarily be the first symptom of the disease to be dealt with.
The luxury and high-end segments of residential real estate will also see a major impact from this exercise, since it is another area which has seen a lot of payments done in cash. The legal banking/financing channels have accounted for only a small part of all transactions in this space. The demonetization move is likely to result in luxury property prices dipping by as much as 25-30% as sellers struggle to offload properties to generate liquidity. This means that luxury home buyers will suddenly have a much wider bandwidth of options to choose from.
With black money suddenly being wiped out of the market, a lot of investors who have been investing in projects with unaccounted-for money – and raising prices to book profits – will be eliminated from the system, thereby aiding a much-needed correction.
Short-term: Market to undergo a slowdown The sudden ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes has resulted in a situation of limited or no cash in the market to be parked in real estate assets. This has subsequently translated into an abrupt fall in housing demand across all budget categories in the short term. While a share of this dwindled demand could be attributed to distractions caused by the move, many industry experts opine that this is a result of a trust deficit in the market. Money has become dearer, leading to cautious spending and minimal transactions. The slowdown owing to this announcement has been more severe in NCR particularly Gurgaon, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and certain Tier II markets such as Surat and Vadodara. Minimal impact of demonetisation has been felt in markets such as Bangalore, Pune and Chennai, which are primarily end-user driven and rely on bank funding. Liquidity has been severely impacted and this would result in a deflation with limited sales over the next three months. In short, the move has taken the real estate sector by a storm, and it would take time for all stakeholders in the sector – brokers, buyers, owners and developers - to assess its repercussions on their businesses and decisions. In particular, transactions in the premium housing sector and the residential land category – overtly dependent on the cash component - would come to a standstill in the short term. In the short term, buyers and sellers in the middle of transactions might be impacted as cash component would be involved in such deals. There would be intermittent delays in the execution of ongoing residential and commercial projects primarily owing to the massive cash crunch and minimal trading in the economy.
Mid-term Impact: Reduced inflation, better home ownership appetite, improved rental landscape
With limited money floating in the economy, the inflation rates are expected to fall in the next 2-3 quarters. This, coupled with key policy developments such as speculative repo rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), could mean a better home ownership appetite. However, this could be restricted to the affordable housing category. The heavily cash-dependent secondary market could bear a colossal brunt of the demonetisation move. With the gap between circle rates and market rates bridging, owners would reduce ‘ask’ prices, impacting the average housing prices across cities. Resale properties would, thus, become cheaper and this could pressurise the primary market, as well. Developers might offer new projects at discounted rates or propose incentives to magnetise buyers. The dwindling demand for housing could benefit the rental market across metros but the change might take a year or so to manifest its impact on the rental price points. Both commercial and residential markets could see rentals going north by 10-20 percent. In the midst of all these developments, affordable housing will remain largely unaffected due to their non-dependence on the cash component. In fact, the demand for this category might witness an uptrend due to improved purchasing power. Long-term impact: Transparency, revived trust and capital inflows in the realty sector
The real estate sector is expected to get cleansed of its ailments in the due course of time owing to the elimination of black money clubbed with multiple regulatory changes such as the Goods and Services Tax Act, Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act and amendment of the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act. Subsequently, project approvals will be quicker, resulting in a substantial reduction in the total cost of construction, thereby, the ‘per unit’ cost. Fair pricing would mean a revived demand for new projects in the market. Demonetisation could also mean fresh sources of funding for developers to complete their projects. Some of the alternate sources may include the following:
• Developers will be forced to clean up their balance sheets so that they can avail funding from legitimate sources, however, this may come at extremely high costs from the Non-banking financial companies (NBFC) segment.
• Developers can avail short-term loans from their existing buyers at market price with a promise to deliver the project on time and at an interest rate as per the agreement in the sales deed.
• Investments from private equity firms would usher positive sentiment across the market, helping developers to source funding and strengthen end-user demand. The real estate sector could witness a major revolution with cash transactions getting eliminated and a major share of trades going online with the penetration of alternative forms of payment such as E-wallets, apps and plastic money. To sum it up, the demonization of old currency has ushered a new era for the real estate industry in India that would be transparent, corruption-free, organised and veracious.
What stays mostly unaffected?
The primary market – or, more specifically, the market formed by projects undertaken by reputed and credible developers in the top 8 Indian cities – will remain more or less unaffected. This is because buyers into such projects take the home loans/finance route to buy their homes, and transactions are done through legal channels. Therefore, there will not be any major impact on sales in this segment. However, there might be an impact on quite a few projects in tier 2 or 3 cities where cash has played a role even in primary residential sales. However, the turmoil in this segment will settle down in a short period of time.
Overall Impact on the sector
In the past one year, there have been a few positive and potentially long-lasting changes in the Indian real estate. The passing of RERA (Real Estate Regulation and Development Act 2016), the Benami Transactions Act and now the demonetization move will ensure that going forward, the sector will lose much of its historic taint and become more transparent. Only players who conduct their business with integrity will survive. This bodes well for end-users, who will be aware of their rights, have the assurance of not being cheated and will no longer need to contend with constantly rising prices. They will be able to buy properties of their choice at affordable prices, in projects which will assuredly be delivered on time.
The demonetization exercise was a very necessary step which was bound to bring with it a tremendous shake-up wherever black money has played a major role. Over the long term, the Indian real estate sector will emerge stronger, healthier and capable of long periods of sustained growth. As of now, there is no reason for developers and investors who have conducted their dealings transparently and legally to panic. It will essentially be business as usual for them.
